Sunday - Last night at home
So, you don't get a real post tonight because we're packing and hustling to get done. We're having Quick tomato soup again - a seemingly new pre-travel tradition. It's easy and makes no leftovers, so nothing to clutter the fridge. I just love the recipe because it's tomato soup to another level - homey and gourmet. I think it's almost an analogy for our entire cooking philosophy! Is that too much to put on a simple soup? Maybe it's the pre-travel crazies coming out. We'll be back to posting this coming weekend!

Note: I thought this got posted late on February 4th, but apparently not. Sorry!
Well, M and I are off on separate travel tomorrow. He leaves for a conference in Tampa, while T and I are heading to Washington, DC for grandparent visits. We'll be back late next week, but have a packed weekend (none of which we're cooking for!), so plan to hear from us again on Monday the 16th or Tuesday the 17th. We wish you all a lovely Valentine's - we will celebrate a bit late on the 19th (the anniversary of our first kiss!), so stay tuned for another traditional feast!
PS Did you say something about thinking about St. Patrick's Season? I thought so!

M and I leave tomorrow to go house hunting in buffalo, leaving T and C (our dog) in the capable hands of M's mom, Mn. Tonight we're having Chinese take out for an easy pre-departure dinner. We'll be back (and back to the blog) on Friday (check in then for double decker tacos - a gastronomic delight!), hopefully the proud owners of our first house! Holy cow!

M and I are going away for a few days to check out a potential new job/place to live. L, my mom, will be here taking care of T and C (our dog), but she has (wisely, I think) chosen not to post while we're gone. We'll be back late Wednesday, so expect the next meal post on Thursday. Have a great weekend and early part of next week!

Once again our family is on its way out of town. We're headed to California to go on a trip with some friends (that's where T was born)! It should be warm and relaxing, assuming T copes ok with the time change. As such Ten Dinners? will be on hiatus until we return on April 2nd. I hope that spring arrives more fully by the time we get back so that we can really enjoy it!

Ten dinners? is going back on vacation. M is doing another round of job-related travel and so T and I are taking off to see the grandparents in Washington, DC. M will come to DC between his jaunts, so we'll be sure T remembers him when it's all done! We'll be back in MI on the 13th of February and ready to cook for ourselves again. Stay tuned and happy eating while we're gone.

TEN DINNERS IS GOING ON VACATION!
That's right, it's time to head south to visit T's grammie (M's mom, Mn) in Kansas City. I will try to post some while we're gone, but you shouldn't expect regular updates until we return on the 27th. Just to wet your appetite for the return of regular meal posts, here's the menu for our Christmas celebration with my mom (L) and one of our friend's (F) on the 28th:
Horseradish crusted beef tenderloin
Creamy horseradish sauce
Roasted potatoes with rosemary
Roasted green beans
Irish chopped salad with Shengarry cream dressing
It's been dubbed "The Ultimate Christmas Feast" and I think there's no doubting that.
Until then!
